Today, HRH Prince Emmanuel of Belgium marks his 14th birthday.
Prince Emmanuel Léopold Guillaume François Marie of Belgium was born on 4 October 2005 at Anderlecht, Belgium, as the third child and second son of King Philippe of Belgium and Queen Mathilde (née d'Udekem d'Acoz). Emmanuel joined elder siblings Princess Elisabeth (b.2001), and Prince Gabriel (b.2003). He was followed by a younger sister, Princess Eléonore (b.2008). The godparents of Prince Emmanuel are his cousin the Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg and his aunt the Margravine Elisabeth Pallavicini (née d'Udekem d'Acoz).
Prince Emmanuel is third in the line of succession to the Belgian throne. He enjoys cycling, swimming, skiing, sailing, and playing the flute. The prince attends a Dutch-language primary school in Leuven.
