TALA LITTER CLEAR UP - 21 November

A group of dedicated Tala residents were busy on Pick up Litter Day.  There were 3 clean up operations in Tala on Saturday 21 November.    One cleared Dionysou, including the storm drain, in Kamares.  The second cleared the road from Ay Seranta Church down the road towards Kissonerga, and the third the recycling area in Stephanie, and the main road from the grassed area down to the corner heading towards Emba.

A total of some 60 large council rubbish bags were filled with mostly cigarette packets, cans, plastic bottles and tetra packs of various descriptions.  A car back seat was found, as was a dead domestic rabbit, a large quantity of electrical wiring and broken plug sockets but unfortunately nothing of any value!!!

And you will be horrified to hear that the crew picking up on the road down to Kissonerga were jeered by a passing motorist and some rubbish lobbed out of the car window - a Brit - hope he is ashamed of himself.

A very big thank you to all involved.    If you wish to help, the next session will be on Saturday 19 December.  If you wish to nominate any areas for a clean up, please email Cathi on toffee@primehome.com
