Malayan Emergency

The Malayan Emergency was a counterinsurgency war fought by British Commonwealth forces against Communist guerillas in Malaya (the former name of Malaysia) between 1948 and 1960. These photos depict New Zealand forces in action (or in some cases, inaction) during this conflict.
