 in-cyprus 13 September 2020 - by Josephine Koumettou

Police announced on Sunday a two-week campaign that starts tomorrow targeting the use of mobile phones by drivers.

The announcement said that the campaign, which aims at tackling fatal and serious traffic accidents, will begin on September 14 and will last until Sunday, September 27.

“The use of mobile phones and other objects during driving result in the driver becoming distracted,” it was added.

On an international level, the announcement continued, distracted driving is one of the main causes that greatly increase the chances of a traffic accident as it takes much longer for the driver to react in the event of an incident on the road.
