Even though the British colonies were seperated from the Spanish and French colonies, they saw themselves separated from their English counterparts. People began to flock to the British colonies from England, Wales, Ireland, and Germany bringing with them the cultures of their homeland. Religion also played a large role in diversifying the colonies even farther. There were already the Puritans, Separatists, and Catholics; now the Quakers occupy the state of Pennslyvania. Most Quakers were persecuted as dangerous anarchist.
