A few 1940s Adverts

A few 1940s Adverts

Don't you love the lines in vintage ads?! The "Nescomatic way"!

Did you notice the aprons in all three of these ads are the same style? Pinafore style with shoulder ruffles. Must of been the look for that year.

And a different kind of apron, a Man Apron! I love his striped shirt, so old fashioned, even for 1949.

Timless Springform Pans

Timless Springform Pans

This was another surprise, this time inside a cookbook. I don't know how long Spring Form pans have been around and  quick search online didn't come up with anything. Anyone know? It is hard to tell the age of the tag its self, though becasue it mentions aluminum maybe the 50s.

Isn't that neat it comes with different pan bottoms? That certainly makes it space saving. And one doesn't have to debate whether it is worth keeping an angel food cake pan that is only used three times a year.
I wonder if they still make them with the interchangeable bottoms.......... I need a set!

Decorating- 1920's Style

Decorating- 1920's Style

I have been a decorating craze lately, not a really doing craze, just a collecting and reading craze. Do you ever do that? Suddenly find yourself with a notebook of idea? Or can't go past the paint counter without picking up a few sample?  I ran across this wonderful site! Antique Home Style They have collected a fabulous collection of 1920's house plans and decorating ads. Here are a few of my favorite ones for Kitchens.
This one is my favorite! I love the clean cheery-ness of it.
Doesn't this one look cozy? A wee bit to much green for me, but I love those huge old sinks.
I have always wanted one of these "Hoosier" style cabinets. Don't they look handy? And who would have thought to put the pot lids on the door in a basket!
P.S. There is our apron of the day! A cute little gingham one over the stool!

1940's Refridgerator Ads

1940's Refridgerator Ads

A few 1940s refrigerator ads for you to enjoy. I am not sure why I am fascinated with vintage ads.... Maybe because they seam rather simplistic compared to our modern ones? Maybe because they have not thrown good taste out the window? Maybe because I love the old fashioned-ness of the line drawings versus photographs?
I know there are lots of others out there who like vintage ads too, I have heard from quite a few of you! Why do you like them??
Surprisingly, there aren't any aprons pictured along with these refrigerators. I had thought they always went together .....like eggs and bacon....
